Terms of Use

The ground rules for reading, printing and sharing Easy Ladle, and what each of us can reasonably expect from the other.

Last updated: 14 October 2026

About these terms

These terms apply whenever you visit www.easyladle.com (the "site"), download our free cookbook or receive our newsletter. "Easy Ladle", "we", "us" and "our" refer to the small independent team that writes and runs the site. "You" means anyone using it.

By browsing the site you agree to follow these terms. They sit alongside our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and Disclaimer, which together explain how the site works. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

What the site is for

Easy Ladle publishes recipes, cooking tips and general food and wellbeing articles for older adults, their families and carers. Everything here is offered for everyday information and enjoyment. It is not a substitute for advice from a doctor, dietitian, pharmacist or other professional who knows your circumstances. Our Disclaimer sets this out in full, and we ask you to read it before relying on any nutrition or health information.

The site is free to use, and you don't need an account. It is intended for adults. Anyone under 18 should use it with a parent or guardian.

Who owns what you see here

Unless we say otherwise, the recipes, articles, page designs, logos, the downloadable cookbook and other material on the site belong to Easy Ladle. Photographs come from the Unsplash library and remain subject to the Unsplash licence and the rights of their photographers.

Lists of ingredients on their own can't usually be owned by anyone, but the way we've written our methods, notes and introductions is our own work and is protected by copyright.

What you're welcome to do

We want our recipes cooked, shared and passed around the kitchen table. You may:

  • read, save and print any page for your own household;
  • print copies to give to a friend, relative or neighbour, or to use at a non-commercial lunch club, community kitchen or care-home activity, as long as our name and the web address stay on the page;
  • share links to our pages by email, messaging apps or social media;
  • quote a short extract (a sentence or two) in a review or discussion, with a link back to the original page;
  • adapt a recipe for your own cooking. That's what recipes are for.

What we ask you not to do

To keep the site fair for the team that makes it and safe for everyone who reads it, please don't:

  • republish full recipes, articles or photographs on another website, blog, app, book or social-media post, with or without credit, unless we've agreed in writing;
  • sell, or charge for access to, anything taken from the site, including the free cookbook;
  • use automated tools to copy large parts of the site, or to collect content for training software or building databases;
  • suggest that we endorse a product, service or person when we haven't;
  • try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or the systems behind it, or introduce viruses or harmful code;
  • use our contact form to send spam, advertising or abusive messages.

If you'd like to use our material in a way not covered here, for example in a printed leaflet or a training course, just ask us. We say yes more often than you might expect.

Messages and ideas you send us

When you write to us with a recipe idea, a family favourite or a suggestion, you still own your words. By sending them, you give us permission to read them, reply and use the idea to develop or improve our recipes. We won't publish your name or quote your message without asking first.

Please only send material you're entitled to share, and nothing that's unlawful, offensive or someone else's private information.

The free cookbook and newsletter

When you request the Easy Ladle Cookbook, we email you a download link and then send a short letter every other week with a new recipe and a practical kitchen idea. Both are free. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in each email, and you're welcome to keep the cookbook afterwards. The cookbook is for personal and household use under the same rules as the rest of the site. Please share the sign-up page rather than the file itself.

Accuracy and availability

We test our recipes and check our articles carefully, but home kitchens differ, ingredients vary and guidance changes over time. Cooking times, yields and nutrition figures are good-faith estimates, not guarantees. We may update, rewrite or remove any page without notice, and we'll correct errors when we find them or when readers point them out.

We try to keep the site running smoothly, but we can't promise it will always be available, free of errors or compatible with every device. We may pause it for maintenance or change how it works.

We sometimes link to health organisations, food-safety advice and other helpful resources. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices. A link is a signpost, not an endorsement.

Our responsibility to you

Easy Ladle is provided free of charge and "as is". As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for loss or damage that arises from using the site or relying on its content. This includes the results of cooking a recipe, reactions to ingredients you're allergic or sensitive to, or decisions about your health made without professional advice.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you also keep any rights you have under the consumer-protection laws of the country where you live.

Suspending access

If someone uses the site in a way that breaks these terms, for example by scraping content or sending abusive messages, we may block their access or stop replying to their messages.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for instance if we add new features to the site. The date at the top will always show the latest version. If you keep using the site after a change, the updated terms will apply.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales may hear any dispute. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the European Union, you can also bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live, and you keep the mandatory protections of that country's law.

Getting in touch

Questions about these terms, or requests to use our material, can go to [email protected] or through our contact page. We usually reply within three working days.
